Branding
Oyster’s burlap bagging area.
Objective:
To inform the local population of Nantucket of Oyster Enviro’s organic product and give it a brand identity (logo) and package design, website design.
Oyster Environmental work site.
Process:
We began with brand strategy and quickly realized the word waste in the name WO was detrimental to their product of wholesome natural product created only from their leaf yard collection.
We decided the need to brand a new company name and product. The original company WO name would remain as the parent company of Oyster Environmental LLC and their OMRI certified Nantucket Gold Natural Compost.
Challenge:
To be viewed as a serious player in the organic compost marketplace while being the town's Waste Management service. They were often referred as THE DUMP by their local competitors because actions of previous owners and their primary role to collect the town of Nantucket's lawn refuse etc. However, under the new owner and leadership they had begun to consider the closed system the Island exists in and the significance of composting, recycling, reusing etc.
The other challenge was to create a brand identity that would read sufficiently on Burlap Bags. OE had made a conscious decision to step away from plastic packaging that would be harmful to the Island.
The Oyster Environmental branded burlap bag.
